appoggiatura 'to lean upon' generally the note is given half the time value of the note it is in front of, if it is in front of a dotted note it might receive two thirds of the time.
acciaccatura 'crushed note' to play the note as quickly as possible, not giving it any definite time value.
trill, tr to rapidly alternate between the note and the note above, often ending in a turn.
